Change is afoot… Warming of the Arctic tundra is allowing the expansion of deciduous shrubs and a shift in the extent of the northern tree-line, but what role do trees, shrubs and their fungi play in soil carbon cycling?
Focal Species: Entoloma hochstetteri
This fungus is commonly found across New Zealand in broadleaf southern-beech (Northofagus) and coniferous Podocarpus forests in amongst the mosses and leaflitter of the forest floor.
